After a brief stay at Oklahoma, Daeh McCullough has found a new home.

McCullough, a freshman defensive back and younger brother of Sooners linebacker Dasan McCullough, announced on social media Saturday that he’s transferring to Louisville.

The 6-foot-1, 181-pound McCullough played in one game as a true freshman at OU, a brief appearance at the end of the Sooners’ 73-0 victory over Arkansas State.

McCullough, from South Bend, IN, is the son of college football coach Deland McCullough, who currently coaches Notre Dame running backs.

McCullough enrolled at OU last year and arrived in June. He began practicing with his team — and his big brother — when the Sooners reported in August.

“It’s been incredible just to be able to go through this with him,” Dasan McCullough said in August. “I’m still basically new, and he’s brand new. We’re going through it together. We play on the same side. He’s a strong safety, and I’m the Cheetah. When we’re on the field, we’re on the same side. This is what we dreamed of doing as far as we can remember. To be able to live it out now? We’re definitely living it out to the fullest.”

Daeh McCullough said he actually committed “like two minutes before” his brother announced his transfer from Indiana.

“It’s great just having him here,” Daeh McCullough said in August, “because obviously there’s days that everybody isn’t gonna be at their best and you’re just gonna feel down. So just having your family there to talk to in person and not just over the phone is great.”

Daeh McCullough was a consensus 4-star recruit at St. Joseph’s High School, the No. 299 prospect on the ESPN300 and the No. 19 safety in the nation. 247 Sports ranked him as the No. 3 prospect in Indiana after his senior season in which he logged 60 tackles, one sack and seven interceptions.
